The Root of the World
This grouping of mountains—part of a larger mountain range—are so named not for any geological peculiarities, but for the large number of spiretop drakes that inhabit them. The area is home to many small villages set among the foothills and valleys. These villages have long eked out their existences under the protection of dragons who count them as part of their territory, currently defended by the Copper Spear. In the past the area was central to trade of many pieces of art, fostered under the patronage of the Bronze Giver. Despite this, the roads connecting these areas have suffered many attacks from black riders said to be agents of death. The locals typically to worship the Raven Queen and Pelor, invoking them for protection and good harvests. Many of their shrines are functional as cemeteries or granaries, respectively.
